Facebook fan pages can be created for virtually anything – for celebrities, athletes or for specific events or businesses. Creating a fan page isn’t difficult, but you do need a general idea of how Facebook works to pull it off successfully. You’ll need to log on to Facebook using your personal account information, head to the advertising section to create the page and then decide specifics for how you want to design the page.
Facebook is the most popular social networking site in the world, with over 300 million registered users.1 Creating Facebook fan pages has become a popular way to get your product, business or idea into the minds of those users. Facebook fan pages allow you to network and connect with those outside of your immediate circle of Facebook friends, without necessarily revealing a lot of your personal information. Step 1: Login to Facebook
The first step in creating a Facebook fan page involves signing into Facebook using your personal account. Step 2: Go to the Advertising Section

Actually making your Facebook fan page involves several steps. Follow these steps in order to create a Facebook fan page.Designate a category for your Facebook page. Your choices will be “Local,” “Brand, Product or Organization” or “Artist, Band or Public Figure.” Depending on what option you choose, additional categories will appear in a drop-down. You should then choose the most relevant category. If you are a musician, for instance, you’ll want to create “Artist, Band or Public Figure.” Enter the name of the thing for which you are creating the Facebook fan page. Step 4: Design Your Page
Once you have created your Facebook fan page, you will need to add photos and information in order to make it a page that Facebook users will want to visit as well as give them information.
Upload a profile picture by selecting that option at the top of the page. Make sure you choose a picture that represents your product, business or idea. Review it to make sure that it looks good in a thumbnail version, since that will be the image most visible on Facebook. Add information about your product, business or idea via the “Add information to this Page” link underneath your profile picture to make sure people visiting your page will have as much information as possible. Step 5: Publish Your Page
Your Facebook fan page is not yet live until you click the “Publish this Page” link. Once published, visit the “Edit Page” link to change your settings (such as age restrictions) as desired. Don’t forget to become a fan of your newly created Facebook fan page from your personal page.
Once you have created and published your page, recognize that the work doesn’t stop here. You’ll want to do things to ensure that as you add new fans, you keep them. Keep the page “fresh” by adding new material regularly.
Step 6: Maintain a Good Fan Page

Why should they come back? One way to keep interest levels high is to regularly post new information on the page. Facebook allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years old to become registered users of the website.
Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo SaverinDustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.[8] The website's membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before opening to high school students, and, finally, to anyone aged 13 and over.
